First time ever on vinyl and finally released again on compact disc.
My album Hrafnagil is a very personal record which I am very fund of. I was dealing with a lot of mental problems when it came out in 2016 - and it was a hard time. I'm so thankful for the people in my life who are honest and caring and who show geniune love. If it weren't for those people - I don't know where I would be today. Same goes for today. I still struggle with depression and sometimes it can be very hard. But I don't give up. I always try to reach out for the light.
And it's good to have you. You guys know who you are.
When I listen to these tracks today I hear I could have done this or that better - but it doesn't matter. That's just how music is. You could always have done something better. Or changed this or that. But it is what it is. I'm happy with it. It takes courage sometimes to put out music. It is what makes you an artist. Letting go. Letting go of the fear of what others would say.
It's my only album that has been nominated to the Icelandic Music Awards. I was really proud of that. First ever from my hometown Tálknafjörður. And it's a record dedicated to my father and my mother. All the track titles are names of places in my hometown which I have connections to. You even see Móatún on it.
The cover photo is of my friend Kristinn. Random summer moment in 2004. He was just standing there and I took photos. Which I always do. One of my hobbies which turned into art when I started using them as covers for Móatún 7.
I was always proud of this photo - not only because it's so minimal - but because of the colors. These are the colors of my hometown. And also because Kristinn is standing near Móatún 7. My family home. And today my label.
I hope you enjoy hearing this album - if you haven't. If you have - please listen again. Or support me and my label by either purchasing a digital copy of it or physical. -Á"
