Whether or not the A424 will compete in IMSA’s GTP class is not yet clear. RACER asked Sinault whether or not Signatech had aspirations to take the A424 to the WeatherTech series. “If Alpine asks, I would consider it,” was the answer. Currently Alpine does not sell road cars in North America.
Ja igen, vmelyik edzés közvetítésben elhangzott, hogy Fassbander Proton-os versenyzésének is vége lesz idén, de ebben talán még nincs hivatalos infó.
Mindenesetre remek az a dokusorozat, ahol végig lehet követni "David" útját fordulóról fordulóra, azért jó lenne ha versenyezne még. Dempsey-t is sajnálom hogy nem indul már sehol évek óta, azért igazán nyomhatná a saját csapatban.. kellenek a hollywood-i sztárok, ez is Le Mans-i hagyomány. :)
Az a szuper ebben az új globális GT3 platformban, hogy ezek az új autók mindenhol ott lesznek, IMSA, WEC, Le Mans, SRO.
A Proton lett az új Ford Mustang program egyik fő csapata, gondolom ezzel vége minden együttműködésüknek a Porsche-val GT szinten, de a GTP programot tovább viszik.
Új Corvette-ből is lesz mindenhol, négy autó az IMSA-ban, kettő a WEC-ben és kettő az SRO-ban.
Mivel az LMP2 kategória megszűnik a WEC-ben, a United átigazol az IMSA-ba, de Le Mans-ban persze elindulnak majd.
Ha nem Toyota nyer, akkor bárki is lesz ez, történelmi győzelem lesz - persze a maga nemében mindegyik az - de ez mégiscsak egy új korszak kezdete - ha technikai specik terén nem is igaz ez -, egy új aranykor kezdete lehet.
Throughout the opening rounds of the current FIA WEC season, Toyota’s drivers and team members have sent a clear message to the wider motorsport world by handily beating Ferrari, Porsche, Cadillac and Peugeot at Sebring, Portimao and Spa. But the real plaudits won’t come until this team beats everyone at La Sarthe, with the world watching.

Eseménydús másfél óra eddig az első szabadedzésen, a D'station Ferrari falnak csúszott az egyik Porsche kanyarban, majd pár másodperccel később belezúgott a Tower Motorsport LMP2-es, totálkár mindkettő, legalábbis nagyon komolyan lezúzták őket. Nyúltak az arcok a pit lane-en. A falat is javítani kell, ez eltart még egy darabig.
Amúgy gyönyörű az idő, fantasztikus látni ezt a sok prototípust, a közvetítésben amikor a full eredménytáblát mutatják, az első 4 oldalán ninc sis GT autó.. huh régen volt már ilyen :)
A NASCAR autó lenyűgöző egyébként, jellegzetes hangjáról bárhonnan felismerni, bár mondjuk ezt a pályán mellett sokkal izgalmasabb.
Pruett is Le Mans-ban és nyomja a kontenteket a 56-os garázsból, érdemes - most is - követni.

It marks Diffey’s return to Le Mans for the first time since 2012, with Fish having last called the race in 2017.
The eponymous team owner said that the outcome this weekend could “absolutely” be a determining factor in how the program will continue after the next WEC round at Monza. “There are a lot of possibilities,” Glickenhaus said. We’re just waiting to see how we do here with the new situation with the new Balance of Performance. We’ll see how we do here. It’s a little too early for us to make any suggestions.”
But the biggest impression of the day might have been made by Hendrick Motorsports’ Garage 56 car. The No. 24 Camaro ZL1 lapped more than two seconds better than the quickest time in GTE Am, with Mike Rockenfeller reeling off a 3m53.761s early in the test, showing more of the NASCAR entry’s potential.

Amikor kb. 2 éve elkezdtek jönni a hírek, hogy lesz ez a két kategória, egy full proto hibrides ill. egy vásárolt vázra épülő saját motoros már akkor is csodálkoztam hogy gondolják azt, hogy ezek nagyon erős BOP nélkül tényleg egy súlycsoportban lesznek.
Ha viszont BoP-al lerontják a Supercarok-at az LMDh-k szintjére, akkor 2-3 éven belül mindenki LMD-h-ra vált majd.
A Glickenhaus meg szép project, de hibrid nélkül esélytelen.
A mai tesztnapon a Ferrari volt a leggyorsabb, a #7-es Toyota pedig kresselt a Tetre Rouge-ban.
Jól teljesített a NASCAR autó is!
The NASCAR Garage 56 entry got off to a strong start, too: The No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 looked competitive with the GTE Am field, especially in the hands of Jenson Button, who set a 3m56.880s, which would have been fourth-quickest in the GTE Am running order.
Jó sok plusz súlyt kaptak néhányan, főleg a Toyota (+37 kg), ami persze nekik nem is tetszik, a többiek pedig nem igazán szerették volna kommentálni.
A WEC azzal indokol, hogy nagyobb a teljesítménybeli különbség az LMH alkategórián belül, mint előzetesen várták, ezért nemcsak a két platform, hanem a platformon belül is indokolt lett a korrekciózás.
“Performance adjustment between LMH and LMDh platforms means changes for all cars within each group in order to balance out the best LMH car with the best LMDh car,” a statement from the FIA and ACO provided to Sportscar365 read.
“However, following the first three races of the season it turned out that performance differences within the LMH group are greater than initially anticipated, therefore balancing out only the two platforms wouldn’t be sufficient to fulfill the ultimate goal that the BoP is meant to achieve, and that is to ensure a level playing field for all competitors.
“Therefore, corrections were made between, but also within, the LMH and the LMDh platforms – BoP changes and balancing out between the platforms in this case happened simultaneously.”
