Actress Sadie Frost has set divorce proceedings in motion against her estranged Hollywood husband Jude Law - following months of reported turmoil within their relationship. The star couple separated earlier this year, after being considered one of England's most rock solid celebrity pairings. A statement released on Frost's behalf cites Law's "unreasonable behavior" for the motivation behind the divorce, which will terminate their near six year union. The actress herself adds, "I have come very reluctantly to the decision that my marriage to Jude is over. We have agreed that a divorce is the only way forward but we have equally agreed that we will do everything in our power to make certain that this is as painless a process as possible for the benefit of the children. They are our number one priority and have always been so and will remain so."

Things just got VERY silly!! Highly mysterious singer/songwriter 'Allan Van D'Arc' has taken the nation's obsession with Kylie's posterior to a new dimension, with the appearance of his new song dedicated to those very cheeks, 'Ode To The Bottom'!!!! "Perfect - not a glitch" run the lyrics, "No bum note - no hitch, Oh bend a little lower, Of you, I beseech. But I should be so lucky, To get my mitts on it"... LOL!!
We're not wholely convinced that this isn't another ruse from the 'Ban The Bum' campaign (and their twisted logic!) but I guess we'll find out soon enough. For the time being 'Allan Van D'Arc' (we love the name!) explains the inspiration behind the song (taken from his website at www.vandarc.com):

Well, I certainly took these words of wisdom to heart! It all started a few days ago when a national tabloid newspaper printed a life-size poster of Kylie Minogue's revered backside. They say that 'booty is in the a**e of the beholder' , but what boy wouldn't be amazed by the sheer perfection and immaculate complexion of these curves ?
Decidedly mesmerised by this heavenly vision, which I was now able to contemplate on my bedroom's wall, I started imploring it: "why do you keep staring at me, oh wonder of the World, will you leave my mind to rest ?!". But the bum kept on staring , oblivious to my distress - and I just couldn't get it out of my head la la la.
I soon realized that I wasn't an isolated case, as a few of my mates were suffering -on this hottest day of the year- from the same mental disorder since photos of La Minogue on a St Tropez beach appeared across the media a few days before.
So in a bid to calm the obsession, I decided to write a song to give Kylie's bum the credit it deserves by writing the anthem that every man, every office and every building site in the land is craving for.
The funniest part was perhaps recording the vocals starkers in my bedroom at 3am in the morning, repeatedly screaming "Here's To The Bottom !" over and over again. God only knows what the neighbours thought - I have a feeling it's not 'done' here in posh Holland Park !!
What I didn't expect though is to find that the song -just like Kylie's butt it seems - now has a life of its own, and thanks to my mates who posted it on the net I've already received 46 e-mails and requests about it in the last 48 hours! It looks like everyone is desperate to get their hands on it (the song, I mean) , even a couple of radio DJs...! So keep on requesting and writing...I'm keeping it all for posterity...

Kylie Minogue's hardcover book La La La will be released on paperback in October and expanded with the addition of 200 new photos.
The book, originally released in hardcover last November, retailed for $55 and the first 30,000 copies sold out instantly.
Photos for the new edition have been sourced from Kylie's personal collection and some of the text has been rewritten by creative director William Baker.
The book was about her loves and losses and rise to fame from soap opera actress to international singing star.
Kylie will also have her 2004 calendar on sale in September focusing on her Love Kylie lingerie line. You can also expect her next album before the end of 2003. The album is described as a "work in progress".
Kylie's Greatest Hits compilation from last year reaches Poland in September... but with a twist! The UK's '1987-1992' hits have been extended, due to far less record company red tape in that territory, to become 'Greatest Hits 1987-1997'!
BMG Poland release the 2 disc CD and accompanying DVD and Video on 22nd September. As well as all Kylie's PWL material, the package comes with the addition of Confide In Me, Put Yourself In My Place, Did It Again, and Breathe (we aren't sure why Where Is The Feeling and Some Kind Of Bliss have been omitted - not released in Poland originally perhaps??). Fantastic news with the DVD in particular as, for the first time, the four deConstruction videos will be available on DVD together for the very first time. The compilation also comes with a genuine photo of Kylie on the front - shock, horror! On a slightly pickier note, we should point out that Breathe was *actually* released in 1998, but we'll that pass... :)

Sexy pop stars 'threaten childhood'

Kylie Minogue: criticised for relying more on appearance than singing.
Children are being put under pressure to grow up too soon by pop stars who use a sexy image to promote their songs, a teachers' leader says.
Jim O'Neill, chairman of the Professional Association of Teachers, has warned that the innocence of childhood is being eroded by the sexual imagery of stars such as Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears.
"Kylie Minogue might be a great singer but in many of these things you can see more of her bottom than you hear of her voice," said Mr O'Neill.
And he complained that the pressure to grow up too soon meant that primary school girls were going to school in "ridiculously short skirts" and "dressing like teenagers - it might be appropriate in a club but certainly not in a school".
He also said Britney Spears had adopted a more "raunchy" image, which children would follow.
"Britney Spears was promoted as being ideal for girls - the virgin thing and everything else. Now that seems to have gone - she's quite raunchy now, when I think back to the fact she was projected as this country girl with flowing skirts and petticoats.
"That's the problem, if pop stars are going to make a success, they have to promote themselves and the way to do it is to make more and more outrageous videos and statements."
Mr O'Neill says children are exposed to too much swearing on television Addressing the association's annual conference in Harrogate, Mr O'Neill said that children's right to be themselves was being threatened by an aggressive consumer and media culture.
"Childhood itself is under so much pressure today. Our youngsters are almost coerced into growing up far too fast and far too soon by some of the pressures and policies around them. There are pressures to succeed, to conform, to be in fashion, to be 'cool' and to have anything and everything immediately - especially if it's the designer label of the day."
Mr O'Neill also said that he was unhappy at how childhood was being "eroded" by lessons being given to infants about drugs and sex.
"I despair of further erosion of childhood and childhood innocence when you hear that six year olds in Nottingham schools are being taught about the perils of drugs, smoking and alcohol - at six mind you, and when there are plans to introduce sex education for five year olds."
The quality of childhood was also being damaged by the number of tests and exams facing young people, he said.
"It is important to remember that children are little beings not inanimate objects; not little vessels to be filled to the brim with academic knowledge."
Mr O'Neill also warned against the way that television was setting a bad example for children, exposing them to too much bad language and violence - and he said that there had to be a stand against the "dumbing down of standards".
And he called on the Children's Minister, Margaret Hodge, to ensure "a much more rigid enforcement of the nine o'clock watershed and the standards that watershed is supposed to protect".
But he also suggested that teachers had contributed to a lack of "social order", saying that in the 1970s and 1980s, the prevailing liberal ethos had led to "excesses" which needed "curbing".
"The other thing lost is a sense of shared responsibility and of community, with the consequent breakdown in social order, but the whole blame for that cannot be laid at the door of education."

Hoax leads to police hunt

Film makers were blasted as irresponsible last night for faking a kidnap of pop singer Kylie Minogue - starting a police hunt for the star.
Kylie's neighbours dialled 999 after seeing a woman who looked just like her bundled into a car outside her flat. Police sped to the scene and began door-to-door questioning. They also called Kylie's management company to check her whereabouts.
Her spokesman was furious about the stunt. He said: "This is an incredibly irresponsible thing to do and I can't believe anyone would be that stupid." He said the star was not at the flat in South West London when the incident happened - "she was recording at the time."
The hunt for Australian Kylie, 34, was called off only when documentary makers contacted detectives to admit the abduction was a hoax. Scotland Yard said they would be issuing strongly worded advice to documentary makers in future.
Police said: "At 1.56pm on Monday we received a number of calls about a woman being abducted.
"This was later found to be a hoax and a documentary maker had faked it."
Kylie's furious friends also called the programme makers "irresponsible".
One said: "What a bizarre thing to do. People were quite rightly concerned that Kylie was coming to some harm and they called the police. To mock up a kidnap like this is just baffling. I cannot think what entertainment value this would bring.
"It is shocking and totally irresponsible thing to do. It was also a complete waste of police time. They were so concerned that they phoned her manager to check that she was OK."
Police were reported as saying they believed the documentary crew were making a programme for Channel 4. But Channel 4 last night denied having anything to do with it.
A spokesman said: "It doesn't sound like anything that any of our companies are involved in at the moment."
Two of Kylie's film roles have featured in a new 'Worst 100 Films' poll. Luckily, they're the two she quite openly classes as "big mistakes"! Plus concern over increase in fraudulent Kylie Ebay listings.
In a new poll of the Worst 100 Films Of All Time, Kylie's roles in Streetfighter and Bio-Dome both feature. Streetfighter, in which she played Nintendo beat-em-up character Cammy alongside Jean Claude Van Damme, comes in highest at 48, with the even more cringeworthy Bio-Dome at 96. Kylie recently commented that Bio-Dome has been one of the very few things her father Ron has criticised her for doing in her life, which, she says, means it must be bad!! She also insists she has never even watched it
Other news: Kylie is now back in the UK, continuing work on her new album, and was spotted this week paying a mysterious visit to Sanctuary Records in London. We're not sure if this was a trip to discuss production or writing work with one of the label's acts for her own album, regarding a collaboration of some sort with another artist (which, of course, she's been known to do many times before - Ben Lee being her latest 'foreigner'!) or merely a social visit :) but we'll be sure to let you know if we hear anything on the grapevine. One tabloid has also reported that Kylie was spotted in a restaurant this week spilling a glass of red wine down a fellow diner's trouser leg! And finally, Australian fans can rejoice in the knowledge that the recent BMG Special Editions are now pencilled in for a release down under some time in August/September. Stay tuned!
