Yoga Nugraha Usmad is an Indonesian sound artist based in Yogyakarta under the name Youga. The idea for this album came when he visited Mount Merapi, and saw many stones that were born from there, then from that it brought to the position and perception that stones have souls and memories.
Tarl is Drifts In Autumn.. His album was brought about by moving to the Isle of Wight and a desire to try something new. The use of field recordings captures the local countryside and nearby beach and central to the creative sound. A deep meditive experience
Lights down and disappear into yourself for a bit. Saloop stumbled across the way that shepherds in South West England traditionally counted their flocks and thought that would give him some good track titles. Then it dawned on him – counting sheep! It had to be an ambient album. Designed to be listened to in one sitting.

Although 30 years after its birth this fundamental electronic gem called 'Reflections' has achieved cult status, it is worth remembering that it all started in 1993 in a small apartment in Waterloo, London, with the help of a mixer and a bunch of hardware synth and drum machines of hardware, with the mastodontic Oberheim OB-8 synthesizer as the main partner.
While in the UK the vast majority of kids showed a certain rejection of what came from North America in the form of electro, Kirk Degiorgio, under his alias As One, embraced it openly and incorporated it into his productions along with influences from other genres that he had already adored since he was young, such as jazz, soul or funk, thus becoming one of the true early adopters of Detroit techno in the UK.
If we look back, 'Reflections' is a challenge in itself, and even more so considering what the consumption pattern of electronic music was in the early 90s. This timeless album fits into the delicate border between being enough club to work on the dance floor, and still being musical and cerebral enough to be listened to at home. A milestone that, whether premeditated or not, Degiorgio more than achieved.
Three decades later Lapsus Records has been able to access the pre-masters extracted from the original DATs to build a special 30th anniversary edition within its Perennial series. For the occasion, this reissue not only offers the tracks included in the first edition, it also adds the songs 'The Priestess' –never released on vinyl before– and Forgotten Memory –until now unreleased and rediscovered in one of the DATs dating back to 1992 from the 'Reflections' recording sessions. We are therefore facing the definitive edition of an album that, despite coexisting with the explosion of the rave movement, would pave the path for the UK-Detroit connection."
Lee Norris has created, under the Nacht Plank moniker, a warm and crunchy album full of otherworldly ambience and nostalgia. Friends Within The Darkness 2 is not an album that can be described in earthly measures, nor does it follow any specific song-writing rules. Instead, the tracks seem to have a life of their own, constantly evolving and changing according to an internal set of parameters. Its strange sounds and textures make it impossible to associate with our known world, and its inaccessible titles only add to the mystery surrounding the music.
This compilation of 20 tracks spans a full 20 years of Solipsism's work in ambient music. While it predominantly features material from his previous releases, several of the tracks were produced for television and are now available publicly for the first time via Neotantra.

You received this because you bought Patience Is The Key by Tone Language, also on Neotantra."
This is brilliant. It's a dark, menacing twister of a listen. Hints of vapor & slush, and some Caretaker too. It isn't that often I put something on and I actually listen to all of, all the way through, but this just did that! -knightd68"

Our dear friend from Iceland Árni Grétar drops his new album here on Neotantra. For those of you who dont know Árni he runs the beautiful little label Móatún 7.
You certainly get the feeling you’re at one with nature listening to this album, especially with headphones on as the subtleties are rather sublime. They envelop you by stealth almost. It’s a fine balance and finely achieved. I would imagine most ambient fans would be proud to have this as part of their collection—it’s an album deserving of many, many listens.

Its strange sounds and textures make it impossible to associate with our known world, and its inaccessible titles only add to the mystery surrounding the music. Its looping melodies and sample patterns resemble coded messages from a long-forgotten spaceship, trapped in a far away galaxy. Forever locked in its orbit, it transmits broken signals from worn out tapes that only a sensitive ears understand."
Now it's time for enjoying some new Móatún 7 releases with the last releases for 2023 and the only releases posted public for this month. Been a crazy month- both personally-and then xmas crazy. I hope you had a nice time and had a lovely Year. Hope to see you again in 2024. Have a wonderful last day
Thank you, everyone, for your lovely comments and kind words. I won’t have time to close out the store until later today, so if there’s anything you want to grab at the last minute, everything is still pay what you like / free.
"Shutting shop now for Xmas .... special thanks for all the support on here without it I couldn't survive . Here's 50 free downloads of the awesome EP that came out in 2017 Merry Christmas folks ,..
As I’m closing my store, everything is set to pay what you like / free for another 24hrs only.
I’ve received some feedback and perhaps I could have been clearer. Tomorrow, I’ll set everything to private, so nothing is visible externally. It’s effectively the same thing as shuttering the store but your collections will be unaffected.
However, it does mean that 24hrs from now people will no longer be able to buy anything, or add to their collections. So, if there are albums or tracks you want, be quick.
For those waiting for outstanding physical orders due to the pandemic, you will get them and I have an action plan around that. I, or someone doing fulfilment for me, will reach out to you.
nətɪvɪti by World Circuit & Autumn Of Communion is free until Christmas day. Enjoy our festive album.
"A deep and healing ambient moment to enjoy over the festive period just what I needed"-Gary Willis
"Another wonderful supergroup collaboration, and exactly as described: "Inspired by long winter evenings and alpine walks in Italy and Iceland respectively", moving the listener through each reflective vista with calm, delight and ease. Perfect for the season"-DoubleRR
The recording of the album took place in the westfjords of Iceland and most of it was done when Lee came over for a weekend visit in the middle of January in 2021. I picked him up at the airport in Keflavík on a Thursday evening and we headed all the way to Patreksfjörður where my mother grew up and I own a land. On the way to my family cabin we went through a huge snow storm on a mountain in Barðastrandarsýsla and the car got stuck. The wind blew snow everywhere and we couldn't see anything when we tried to get the car free. Lee went out trying to push the car out while I tried the Forward-and-Back Technique. Nothing worked and then Lee shouted the famous words "Árni, bring the fucking shovel." We then had to shovel our way out to get the car free. It was an experience for a life time because up on the mountain the snow blizzard was only getting stronger and we had no food or no one was near us at the time since this was basically in the middle of nowhere in Icel and. The next two hours in the car we shared many good stories where the track titles came together. While we came to the cabin we were so hungry we called my cousin, which lives in a near countryside, and she gave us fresh Sheep Heads newly cooked and a warm Milk. The next two days was all about the music where we recorded most of the album. When Lee got back home to Italy we finished sharing our finishing touches via Email and had a wonderful time re-living our snow blizzard adventure up on the mountain. This albums means a lot to us and we hope you are as happy as us of getting it out on vinyl. The cover photography was taken on that trip while we went to my hometown Tálknafjörður to buy groceries. As you can see everything was covered in snow. And that is the story of Desolate Snow Roads.
