Jacques Villeneuve lets happy days pass with her wife Johanna in their apartment of the Kennedy Avenue, on the harbor of Monaco. He is on vacation. Moreover, even though he still has no contract for the 2007 season, he will not let anybody disturb these days of rest.
Last week, his employees had announced that they were going to decide very quickly what will happen in his future. However, whereas one waited for a press release for today or tomorrow, news will not probably come this week. «In the meantime, Jacques is thinking», disclose Yan Lefort, the press personal attaché of the Québecois pilot. «Nothing is definitely made, nor in a sense, nor in the other.»
According to Lefort, the NASCAR track did not advance since the last Grand Prix of Hungary. Jacques always negotiates with several teams, but nothing is yet signed. In F1, talks openings are less numerous, but the Quebecois is anxious to explore them in depth. «Jacques works a little, he receives some phone calls, but as everybody is on vacation in Europe, he also decided to have some. He is anxious to have a recess. »
In fact, it seems more and more likely that Villeneuve will decide, finally, to take a sabbatical year. To pass 2007 home would permit him to live the first year of his future baby quietly, while permitting him, possibly, to rebound in F1 - that remains his first choice - in 2008.
The Quebecois should take this decision of semi-retirement during the week, to announce it days before the Grand Prix of Turkey. «I will be present in Istanbul to clarify the situation. Moreover, I hope that Jacques will come with me. I will try to make him decide to come», concluded Lefort.
The indecision that weighs on his future, in any case, does not have the weight to influence on the state of mind of Villeneuve. An additional sign that make you think that a sabbatical year would not displease him.

Innen már nincs visszaút. Azt hiszem vége Jacques F1 pályafutásának.
Annak idején, 1996-ban sokat gondolkoztam, hogy kire emlékeztet. Most már nyugodtan kimondható: Emerson Fittipaldi. Az elvesztegetett tehetség. Ez azért azt is jelentené, hogy van még neki vagy 10 sikeres éve máshol, aminek nagyon örülnék.
Jacques and BMW have parted ways with immediate effect – and mutual consent.
The former F1 Champion revealed on Monday that the reason he is no longer racing for the team is because he feels BMW let him down after refusing to guarantee him his seat back after the Hungarian GP.
JV missed Sunday's race as he was allegedly suffering some aftereffects from his accident at the previous race in Germany.
However, according to the Canadian, it was more a case of BMW wanting to give test driver Robert Kubica the opportunity to race and deciding to do it in Hungary, without offering Jacques any guarantee that he would return to his race-seat at the next race in Turkey.
And it's that, that eventually caused the breakdown in the relationship and resulted in the two parties going their separate ways.
"Last week, the team informed us of its decision to review its options for next year, including assessing Robert Kubica in a race environment at Hungary without offering me any assurance about my race seat beyond Hungary," JV said.
"Therefore, the team and I agreed to part ways with immediate effect.
"This is really disappointing as I was looking forward to working with BMW on longer terms - going into next season capitalising on our common experiences. I will now have more time to concentrate on future projects.
"Finally, I would like to thank the team, especially my engineers and the team's sponsors with whom I have had real pleasure working with in the last year."
"Sunday, right after the crash, Jacques thought that everything would be fine. But the same night, on the flight back home, his head started to seriously hurt. I then suggested to him to wake up late next morning and take it easy, but monday, he had muscle ache and pains everywhere. His crash was hard. Like Nick Heidfield in Indianapolis. If Jacques was in competition for the championship and that every point counted, he would of ran. But since it wasn't the case, he prefered not to take the risk to worsen the situation and called the team to tell then he would not be running in Budapest. The really shock for him was to read the phrase that talked about the end of the season..."
On Jacques' reaction towars this story :
" Jacques doesn't like this whole story. It bugs him but he remains confident. He has a contract and that contract does not allow to replace him in the middle of the season. So, we are waiting on Mario Thiesien decision. Before being able to act, that is the only thing we can do. Anyways, the contract contains confiendality clauses which prevent us from talking about it and do anything else but wait."
On Pollock and the contract :
"The agreements are impossible to bypass. Even if Robert Kubica won the Grand Prix of Hungaria, Jacques will regain his position" Stopping Villeneuve from running would cost alot to the team - and Thiesen can permit himself to bust the budget (which he allready has)

Intel :
Apperently Intel is FURIOUS at MT right now! Intel as you know it concentrated all it's efforts on Villeneuve, there only pilot of international reputation. The company has invested millions of dollars on a publicity campaign focused on Villeneuve which included prints, commercials and short movies. All these (alot which have yet to appear) would be no longer good if MT keeps Kubica. According to the article, Intel has allready voice it's opinion loud and clear to the BMW Marketing group but apperently MT doesn't seem to care....(wonder what the BMW board thinks tho...)

Vettel korábbi balesete miatt harmadik autót sem indítanak, amivel értékes információkat veszítenek.
A nemzetközi sajtó úgy véli, hogy a volt világbajnok sérülései nem komolyak, és ez sportpolitikai döntés volt a csapat részéről, hogy próbára tegyék a lengyel versenyzőt, mielőtt kézhez kapja szerződését.
Egy svájci napilap arról számol be, hogy a BMW Motorsport igazgatója, Mario Theissen csak a megfelelő lehetőségre várt, hogy megváljon Villeneuve-től. Amennyiben igazak a feltevések, és az 1997-es esztendő világbajnoka többé nem léphet pályára, egy újabb egyéniséggel szegényedik a Formula-1."
Remélem nem komoly a sérülése, valamint azt is, hogy nem politikáról van szó. Azért ez a Mario Tejszín nagy barom: Valami jobbulást vagy ilyenek legalább a sajtón keresztül. Helyette inkább: "Arra vonatkozóan azonban még nem döntöttünk, hogy az azt követő futamokon, vagy akár a következő évben ki fog majd versenyezni."
Szerencse hogy nem vettem jegyet a hétvégi futamra!
Kubica replaces Villeneuve, Jacques future in doubt The BMW Sauber F1 Team will take their place on the grid for the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest this coming weekend with a different driver line-up. After his accident at the German Grand Prix last weekend Canadian driver Jacques Villeneuve will not be racing. Test and reserve driver Robert Kubica will take his place. He will be the first Pole ever to contest a Formula One grand prix.
BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen said: "Jacques has informed us that he is not ready to race after his Hockenheim accident. Robert has made an outstanding impression with the team so far, both in testing and on the Friday of the race weekends. Now we will see how he performs in a Formula One race. However, we have not yet made a decision on who will drive the car either in the remaining races of the season or next year."
21-year-old Kubica is looking forward to the new challenge: "I had prepared myself for a whole year without actually competing in any races, so I'm even happier to get this opportunity. And I'm proud that the BMW Sauber F1 Team has such confidence in me. I'm determined not to let them down."
