When the Tanks and TLAV's arrived, that forced the Taliban to have to defend even more routes and allowed the Allies to use different attack routes. There was some great footage of Leopard punching through a previously impassable obstacle that caused the local Taliban defense to fold. Both wheeled and tracked have their good points and bad, but once you reach a certain weight class, wheeled starts to lose it's benefits quickly.
